An Argentinian goes to Mercadona and gives his verdict: "There's no reason why this shouldn't be in my country."

In the midst of a tourism boom, with the arrival of foreign visitors beginning to peak and the government estimating that foreigners will spend 58 billion euros during the summer season, cultural differences can always be a source of discussion. What for some is a vacation, for others is just a daily routine, with its obligations, routines, and difficulties. And these kinds of things can be seen in the smallest details. For example, in a TikTok video, Argentine Joaco Cornaglia highlights important differences between the well-known Mercadona in Spain and Argentine supermarkets.
The Argentine's surprise is equally divided between positive and negative aspects. While this TikToker, in a previous complaint, criticized the lack of cold mineral water in Spanish supermarkets, he also highlights other strengths of Spanish stores.
"A supermarket like Mercadona makes your life much easier in other ways," the TikToker says. From being able to squeeze your own juice to being able to buy chopped onions. And that also extends to prices, "this is key; for one euro you can find chopped peppers, " he emphasizes. And the list goes on, from being able to find a freshly baked loaf of bread in the market itself, to cakes, prepared meat , or an omelet for two euros . Although "the water is still hot," he points out.
"For me, chopped onions are great; they save a ton of work, and there's no reason why this isn't available in Argentina . You get a delicious, live, chopped pig's leg. And the police are also different; they're trained... And the funniest thing is that this supermarket is inside a shopping mall," he notes.
As ABC previously reported, some of Mercadona's strengths, which have made this supermarket chain such a household name, include its quality policy, job creation, and its contribution to the development of the sector. Furthermore, its strategy of constant product renewal and its ability to adapt to market needs are also notable.
